A Book, a beer, your work is too dear
A Book, a beer, your work is too dear
- an A4 collage made up of abstract works created for a book project and potential beer label artwork. Part of an ongoing series of works entitled I Feel Space.
I feel space
I have recently been working on a tentatively titled series of pieces called I feel space:
An exploration in learning patterns from existing information.
Once trained, the artist predicts what comes next using patterns to create entirely new content.
An artists response to generative artificial intelligence.
I’ve shared some of this recently on social media and from now on further updates will be shared here.
Initially this was a series of digital re-shaping experiments where I took the shapes I had painted in larger abstract works and, recoloured them, then moved them around on white space and also on other images digitally.
This has now developed into cutting up old paintings that were on paper, configuring the pieces in new ways and creating unique works in a collage format. Doing this was partly an act of disruption and frustration as I wrestled with both Ai in the art and design world but also, the annoyance at experiences with design work, clients, cost-cutting and the disregard for the creative process.
As these works develop I may say more about this.
If you are interested in any of my work, have a project in mind or would like to commission something, please get in touch. I’d love to hear from you :)
