I read an interview this week with a business owner. One of the questions asked was, what made their new business venture different from everyone else in an already crowded market. Their answer was a [shoddy] description of what is already widespread and commonplace in the already crowded market. ¬†They had nothing new to say… samey idea.

I love the story Ringo Starr tells of his first attempts at song-writing. He would write something, rush to the studio and, excitedly sit down at the piano to let the other Beatles hear his new idea. They would invariably end up laughing on the floor because he had pretty much just re-written something by Chuck Berry or Fats Domino. Samey idea.

Sometimes laughing at samey ideas is ok.
