“Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding.” (Job 38:4)
The verses and chapters that follow are filled with God asking Job about what he ‘thinks‘ he might know in light of God’s creation and his sovereign power over all things……..
And, the Lord said to Job “Shall a faultfinder contend with the Almighty? He who argues with God, let him answer it.” (Job 40:2)
How often we ‘contend with the Almighty’ whether consciously or otherwise……….
May we be like Job who says “I know that you can do all things and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted. Who is this that hides counsel without knowledge? Therefore I have uttered what I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.” (ch42 v 2-3)
