Quick scale of Slemish……
“Tradition holds that Saint Patrick, enslaved as a youth, was brought to this area and tended sheep herds on Slemish, and that during this time he found God….” Read the Wikipedia article here

I have been guilty this week of downplaying Slemish as a bit of a let down and, definitely not much of a mountain but then I hadn’t ‘climbed’ it before and it is near Broughshane……….so………
Anyway, we had a fun morning and you know what? The view on top of Slemish was fantastic and well worth the ‘climb’
Shifting the pounds….
Tell you what, going on holiday for a few days is not good if you are trying to lose some weight….
A lot of sitting supplemented with any kind of regular eating is a recipe for disaster. I think it took me a full week of being back at work and having an actual schedule to get a system back….
Last week I lost the two pounds I had gained during our week off and another one for good measure but, this week I would like to really up my game a bit! So, today I went out for a walk/run/walk in the drizzle and rain! I was amazed at how many people I met walking dogs despite the grey and gloomy weather.
I forgot to switch on miCoach today but based on a previous and similar route I’d say I travelled about 3.5 miles in 50-ish minutes…….but, it’s on like donkey kong!!
I had one quick stop to take a photograph of the river which was thundering along and quite high….

All good….
