Its all acoustic guitars, tight harmonies and wispy beards! The beards will get better in time, trust me! Seriously though, Jonny and Andrew have tunes…..and they are top blokes!
Better than that, they have actual lyrics that mean something. Perhaps the lyrics with meaning trend is not new, but there is still plenty of dirge around with meaningless words.
The 1930′s will get your toe tapping thats for sure……

In a face-off between Elbow in Custom House Square or Eminem in Bangor at Vital? Well, it’s not so much that Eminem is a pleb but, more that his music is utter dirge…..
Right, now i’ve got that off my chest…..
Elbow! Supported (in the pouring rain) by Foy Vance (who was fantastic) and Villagers (who were also fantastic)……… Elbow just blew us away………
The rain went away after it suitably drenched us. The sun even came out at one point and, the songs were exactly as we thought they would be. Guy Garvey was brilliant, his voice was better than I expected it to be….his stage presence? Just sublime….
I could go on…….I won’t……
Probably the best gig I’ve been to in a long long time…..you should’ve been there!
And, twas great to finally meet and enjoy the show with David & Diane!
