I taught myself to play guitar when I was 18, by listening to music and glancing at the occasional chord chart……..and, by listening to music and listening to music…….my discipline was never good!

My brother Stephen was better right from the start……he is the best guitar player I know [personally/really know] so, it’s only taken about 10 years to get over my jealousy and envy……git!

Anyway, I bought a new acoustic guitar a couple of weeks ago……..I had only played bass for a very long time so, I am now in a period of remembering what to do with six strings and nursing very sore finger tips. I shoudn’t have neglected it for so long!

I forgot how much I love it…..

Keith Richards once said “If you don’t know the blues… there’s no point in picking up the guitar and playing rock and roll or any other form of popular music.”

That quote always gets under the skin of lots of guitarists…..but, I’m with Keith!
