At the summit of Slieve Donard

There is something about being out in the open air with friends………..sharing in the experience of Gods beautiful creation…….”immense”

We walked and talked in the sunshine………… gasped and braced ourselves in the strong winds………….and huddled and prayed in the whiteout/snow blizzard………

And then we reached the summit………

Yes, that is frost on my beard……….”immense”

We read from the Psalms……..

And we revelled in our achievement!

Great fun! Hard work in the conditions we encountered but great fun! You might even say it was “immense”

Lose weight with me / catch-up

The truth is, I’ve been stuck at the same weight for a few weeks now and, have found myself bumping the points tallying and “dedicated weight loss program” down the list of priorities……

Thats ‘posh speak’ for “Iv been a lazy git.”

I could say I am too busy………..I am busy to be sure…………but thats a bit of a cop out!

There isn’t too much else to say….but, we are about to enter the food festival also known as Christmas………

I started at 15st 4lbs in May………I am now 13st 6.9lbs……..(ish) and I’ve went down a waist size and two belt notches………

Can I maintain that and not wreck it in the run-up to and during Christmas?

We shall see…..

What about you? Do you pig out at Christmas and pay for it in January?

Joel Osteen – some set of teeth…..

And no Tie!!

But really, Joel Osteen?

Discuss……………..

Lose weight with me / staying on course

I needed a system…..

Without a system I would have been back to my old ways within a week or two. Crash diets are not a system though and, are simply too dramatic a change for most of us. Choose what works for you ……… weight watchers, slimming world or another reputable system……..that’s the way to go! It will help you to stay on course and provides you with some accountability…..

Last week I dropped under 14 stone………..with a gradual process and some persistance…………..less junk food, smaller portions, more water…….better exercise ………..
but most of all, I was determined to stay on course.

How are you getting on?

What foods do you need to drop/cut back on? Are you on course?

Lose weight with me / walking

Well……….

Walking with a little bit of running thrown in.

This route you see on the left is 2.99 miles and I honestly couldn’t say how much of this I ran…..definitely less than half of it is running but, thats not really the point.

This is about a mile short of what I’ve been trying to do a few times a week….

When I tried my first little bit of running I was wrecked within 200 yards…….no joke……I thought I was going to die!

But, I had to start somewhere so I started running enough to be out of breath and, then I walked until I had cooled down a bit, then ran some more……..it’s amazing what you can achieve by paying attention to your own limits and pushing a bit harder each time.

I am not trying to break any records or run a marathon but as a part of my attempt to lose weight this has worked. I can now run for farther without feeling like the world is about to end and, I have begun to feel much healthier in general…..

Right now for me, it’s just about getting regular exercise to compliment healthy eating…..weight watchers is taking care of the food! More about that another time though.

So, what’s stopping you? How much exercise do you get in a week? In a day?

Some walking could be a great start for you?

Maybe you already walk or run?

Tell me about how you do that?
