On friday, I was working in town at the bookshop…….Cherith was finishing work at 9pm so I walked home at 5.30 [20 min walk] and changed into my running gear…..
The intention was to run farther than I had managed during the Christmas period……which, wasn’t very far…….too much food & sitting you see!
My previous best distance had been 5.42 miles……several weeks ago……so, I didn’t think I had 6 miles in me!

A year ago I could not have imagined running 6 miles…..

Great achievement….well done…keep it going #pureathlete #embracethetights
Thanks Chris
Nice one. If you can run 6 miles you can run 10. I did a couple of legs of the Belfast Marathon relay in 2011, was about 10miles in total and the most I ever trained for was about 5-6. The motivation and rush you get running with 15,000 – 20,000 people is incredible.
Would love to run a full marathon sometime but just don’t think I could spare the time needed to train properly. Although apparently if you regularly run 5-10k, a full marathon is doable, just not in a great time.
I think the next goal of 10 miles is where my head is at now so when I hit that I dunno, i may consider a marathon but im a stubborn/awkward so & so and would have to be taking things completely at my own pace re: training/planning……
we shall see
