Entertained into passivity…

“A face front lit by the glow of a luminous screen is a study in passivity. Fleeting images, intermingled with the thousand commercials and banner ads of an average week’s viewing, instill passiveness. There is no time for engagement or reflection, much less action. The viewer becomes a passive, munching , sipping drone. There are guys, voyeurs, who have substituted viewing for doing and imagine that they have scored a touch-down or taken a hill by virtue of having watched it – passive living legends in their own inert minds.”

Young men………...’substituted viewing for doing’ eh?

And we are ‘living legends‘…..in our own ‘inert‘ minds…….in some cases, there may be no convincing otherwise.

  1. Nice read, I just passed this onto a friend who was doing some research on that. And he just bought me lunch as I found it for him smile Thus let me rephrase that: Thanks for lunch!
