I got bummed when I found out my dad stopped following me on twitter.
His response…

If only life were always that simple eh?
I’m impressionable………easily influenced some might say……..so, when my wife said ‘you are going to just do what Los did aren’t you?‘……….well, she kind of got that right……maybe
I’ve been thinking about twitter followers for a long time…………why I can’t ‘actually‘ follow everyone who I have been ‘following‘……….and, why everyone who is ‘following‘ me cannot possibly be reading my tweets……..so…….that post/quote from Carlos edged me toward what I was a bit scared to do!
So, I’ll quote Carlos again “If you’re bummed I’m not following you anymore on twitter, I apologise.”
But, maybe you tweet too much, maybe I’m just not that interested in what you have to say, maybe you offend me and its easier to avoid your words…………you may have exactly the same reasons for not following me…………
That’s how twitter should work…….maybe……it is not compulsory for me to follow you or for you to follow me……
you tweet to much, and retweet too much, but I follow you cause I also like to moan about stuff knowing that no one actually cares lol

I think it’s a great ideas and it’s great of Los to do it… But he followed 15k people or something silly… I only follow about 800, and only pay attention to a certain subset of that…
I follow you because your a friend, and your tweets are funny, inspiring, and insightful… Most of the time… Except when they are about football… Ha ha…
you raise another dimension to it Connor…..the fact that we actually know each other………I mean , its not a prerequisite for following but certainly helps……

I consistently cull and reshuffle my twitter follows to keep them sub-200 capacity…..as I couldnt be engaged wider…….you’re a cert-follower!!
twitter and fb life is a complex animal……. and a fickle thing: i lost five followers after one post last week! Might I ask, what are good strategies for using twitter and fb differently…?

mmm, twitter is now more of an interaction for me……a source of inspiration & challenge………im not sure what Facebook is for if I’m honest……..I can touch base with people/friends who are overseas a bit easier with Facebook i guess……….we can see each others lives with little interaction via Facebook

Nah I get your point, although sometimes people you know are the worst people to follow on twitter, split personalities and what not. Voice their opinion on twitter but act different when their thumbs are not doing the talking.
Instagram is good cause pics are worth a thousand words (is it a thousand? (who cares?)). Apart from when people take stupid pics of an empty plate *looks at Ally*, and those children who put every word of their whole description after a # then add a thousand other tags as well.
Twitter is not a game, doesn’t matter if you have a thousand followers thats more than likely at the least 800 people whom you do not give a monkeys about…

. Hmmm it depends – would you make your tshirts from good quality brands so they didnt shrink? Would I get a poster? What other freebees are there?
