While I was “offline” from twitter/facebook and the blog in July, I had time to upgrade my site to Standard Theme 3
My site has been built on this platform for…….oh, I can’t remember how long…….but, a lot has changed in version 3!
This post isn’t about technical stuff though!
I don’t know what else to say about this theme……..it’s awesomeness……….the community of users………or the 8Bit guys who birthed it.
They have helped to change my life! Sounds dramatic right?
Let me explain a little………Standard……and being able to “learn it” & effectively use it to design/develop was instrumental in my decision to go freelance………..It has helped me to work……….it has helped me get paid!
In two years of uncertain employment and balancing four jobs in our home……Standard has been one of the constants…..and somewhat priceless!
There are other people to thank and show gratitude to but, they won’t want me to mention them!

I like your customization of Standard Theme 3. I’ve used it on several sites, but I don’t have your chops. I’m really just trying to help small churches and ministries. How do you make a header image that extends across the full width of your page?

Mike, my image/header is a background and then iv placed a transparent logo on top of it to make the header clickable – BUT, its not responsive so i need to change it now……I may have to ask in the forums if I get stuck & may end up posting a blog about this stuff – stay tuned
